How many are you building?

I can barely concentrate on one.  I tried getting a second one going once... something to do while the paint dried on the other... but didn't like it.  Once I started the seciond one i ended up working on that til it was done and went back to the first build.

I have 3 or 4 in various states of progress.  I work on one until I get sick of it, then I throw it in the closet and pull one of the other partially completed projects.  I repeat until one is finished, only to start another on the cycle.  Then I wonder why I can only finish 2 a year.....

I'm only building one at the moment, but I'll probably start another one once it gets a little furhter along.

I can't even count them any more. I swear I have Modelling Attention Disorder

 

Thats alot of builds  goin on at once bosshaus. For me I never have more than one going at once due to the size of my "stash" (0 kits in my stash currently I build them too fast plus I'm getting my 1st airbrush so theres a dent in my budget too and with Christmas coming up shopping for presents so I'll have to wait 'til after I get my Chrismas money from various relatives to go on a little spending spree to get an actual stash started.

I currently have 3 which is a bit unusual for me. Normaly I'm a start and finish before I move on kind of guy but I got a little carried away this time, but not as bad as BossHaus!!! I wouldn't know where to dive into that pile. lol!

feeling rather ashamed to say this, but...  7. 

Tamiya 1/12 KR500 GP bike, 1/12 NSR500, 1/35 T34/76(90%), 1/35 Kubelwagon diorama(60%).

Dragon 1/35 M4A3 VVSS (2nd one for the year, 20%), 1/35 Panther G Command(10%),

and Revell 1/24 F-2003GA(20%).

I kept on starting new kits as my interest shifts around by the week.  Life is tough for a guy who likes a large range of models, and tough on the wallet, too.  The next one up is an Academy 1/48 F-15D...  I should really just stop going onto modeling related websites, too much inspirations.

3 builds, a MiG-3 1/48, Me-262 1/72 and and E-550 1/72. 3 is my maximum number of builds at the same time, else nothing would get finished.

i work on 2-6 at a time

2-3 if they are diff. closer to 6 if they are the same

like  last yr i had 6 hazegawa zero's 1/72 scale did them all at once as an assembly line.

all step 1 all step 2 etc

Five right now all Gundam kits.

I usually have 7 to 9 going at one time.  I've sometimes had as many as fifteen at one time, and as low as five. I do eventually get them all done though; most are completed about a weekm or so after they've been started. I do have about three partially-built kits sitting from a year or more ago, but they will eventually get finished too. Right now, I have six 1/72 scale trucks I'm building for the Allied/Axis Truck Group Build on the LEM, as well as a 1/72 scale Tow Tractor that came with the Academy Ambulance Set, and a small 1/72 scale Model T Scout Car from WWI. I'll post pics a bit later showing my work.

i only do 2 or 3 at a time. i make it a point to finish one first before starting on the next. keeps them from piling up. but i just hate it when i get a new kit, i get so exited on building it while i have current builds to finish! Whew!

My modeling desk is too small to do more than one! I also like to keep my stash small, so I try to finish one before I get another kit. (although if I find a deal, that rule wont stop me)

I build one at a time. Generally speaking, even if I get bogged down, I'll just step away rather than starting another kit. Were I to do that, the unfinished ones would just remain that, indefinitely unfinished.

 

Having said that, at current time, and for the first time, I have two projects in the works. Both 1/35. Tamiya 2 1/2 ton truck and Academy M-18 Hellcat with a bunch of figures. They're for a dio, so I need both vehicles roughly completed for planing of the dio.

Wow! I just went and counted I have 11 going right now!!! Egads man! No wonder I can't get anything done! I have them anywhere from ready for decals, to just started painting the smaller parts! If I get burned out on one, I put it away and work on another one until I feel ready to get that one going again, that helps me from getting sloppy. I have 1 that is waiting on parts so I can finish the paint job, but I am getting this sneaking suspicion (SP?) that the order didn't get place, since the lady I talked to could barely speak english I am off to work on a model

I only build one model at a time - start to finish. I did have 2 projects going at one point about a year ago, but one of those was a diorama. The model and figures for the diorama did not get started until my previous model was completed.

Wow, I admire that philosophy. Me:

I too lose focus and start other kits from desire and whatnot. Sometimes the kit stumps me (Elefant tracks) that it detours my building. I will finish it early next year though thanks to the tracks given by Stuart.

Mine are all on hold right now due to a lack of time:

All scratchbuilt: Curtiss C-46, Liore et Olivier H-43, Tupolev R-6 "Aircruiser", IMAM RO-41 and for a group build which ends on March 31 : DH-4 and Renault WW1 Tank.......I work on one for 3 or four days then continue with another.....eventually they all run out of the shop!!!!!..

The R-6, C-46 and H-43 should be out in January, so I am planning on starting:

DC-6, B-18 Bolo and SM-75...............

Well, I'm just getting back into the hobby again after a long absence. My 10 year old son showed an interest and I figured it would be a fun father and son thing during those long winter months and hopefully prevent cabin fever too.

I used to work on one at a time. But I came up with a plan of action since I don't have the spray booth completely built yet. I built up a decent stash of our favorite 1:24th & 1:25th scale Muscle Cars and sprayed about 12 bodies ahead of time, most factory colors. Then when my son and I are bored or we don't have homework, we spend some time at the table painting and glueing.

We drove Mama crazy... we have boxes filled with models in the shed, in our bedrooms, in the back of my truck, just about everywhere I could stash them. Whenever we seen one we liked, we would drop it into the shopping cart. Mama would say - "Don't you guys have enough models already?" My son would say - "Nope, and if we don't get it now, next week it'll be gone." She'd look at me... and I'd say - "Honey, he's right... besides, I could always shop for the real thing and rebuild it in the garage."  We'd get the models hehe.

Thats a pretty good story J. I am going to have to start using that one when the old lady asks me why I bought another model. I tried something out last night, I told her I wanted her to go to the hobby store with me and pick one out she like, anything she wanted, and I would build it however she liked, that seemed to go over pretty good, so this might turn into a good thing!

Great eizzle, glad my antics helped... but be warned...
I did that with my wife too, I'm a GM man and she picked out a bunch of pony cars. Now after about 5 it doesn't work anymore.

We're up to new curtains, living room furniture, yard furntiture, new clothes... you get the idea. But at least I still have my project car in the garage besides the models, oh yeah and my new tools every once and awhile. Like the new AB's & compressor she bought for us.

I build one at a time. Quality really suffers if I split attention on more than one.

I feel like a nut when I started counting : 1/48mon Fokker DV11, 1/48Aca AH 64A Apache, 1/72 Roden Nieuport 16c,1/72 Has M3A1 halftrack 1/150 Revell Frigate USS United States, and two stock cars. With almost 1500 kits left Iwill still never get them all done, all well  I hear my hobby store calling !

Currently I have two going at the same time and that's pretty typical.  I once had three going at the same time and I won't repeat that mistake again.  Quality started to suffer.
