Im not sure, but i think that in ground vehicles is dragon. in aircrafts it could be revell.

Dragon and Tamiya For 35 armor and figures. I wouldn't say that I limit my options to them. Every kit is at least worth looking into.

For aircraft I like Testors. After you stop laughing, let me explain why. It's because I can model them comfortably. I have some Tamiya, Heswegua (forgive spelling),MRC, and a beautiful signifer goose,but I get so wound up doing the more complex kits it really takes all of the fun out of it. For a cheap model, Testor's generally seem to fit better than say, minicraft and there is still enough detail to come out with something that ends up not looking like a toy. Once I am more skilled and have high quality tools like a good airbrush, I am sure I'll have more fun with the "pro" models, but for now terms like "photoetched" and "resin" leave me in the fetal position sucking my thumb. Heck, I've blown a lot of money on kits I might not ever feel "ready" to build.

So far, Dragons 1/35 armors for the level of detail and extra parts you get for the price. And Tamiya for the wonderfully done engineering of their kits and the amazing selection. All that said, any kit is valuable if it depicts the model you want to build.

No matter where you go ....... there you are.

I didn't say anything about aircraft because its a little embarrassing. Like centerdeck, I feel the lack of agony while building is important. My favorite aircraft models are the monogram/revell kits you can buy anywhere. They are cheap as dirt and if you try they can look pretty good. Say what you will about them, I think they're great.

I was a little let down by AFV. The parts trees look real exciting, but it didn't build that exciting. It is a good model, I wish that there was something more to it.

I like MPM/Special Hobby/Azur because the have very intresting subjects.

As for fit and ease of building, Tamiya is my number one.

Like Drew, I like the company that makes the types of kits I like to build. Having said that, I like sci-fi modeling and early WW2 armor. Fine Molds makes the best IJA tanks as well as the finest Star Wars models on the market.

I also build a lot of 1/72 scale armor and am a fan of Revell, Dragon, UM and Trumpeter small scale armor kits. Dragon is by far the best of these in terms of what you get in the box.

Tamiya for the quality, also Hasegawa. Dragon for value for $ but I also have Trumpeter and Academy because they were subjects that I liked. I only like the newer Revell releases. I only have a couple of Italera but am dispointed with the quality. regards Smile [:)]

Budget Bike kits: Tamiya / Budget F1 kits: Tamiya / Budge Car kits: Tamiya / Aircrafts: Tamiya and Accurate Miniature (Only has an old hasegawa shinden so I have yet to build any good ones from them) / Armor: Dragon and Tamiya / Figures: Dragon, runnerups Tamiya, Tristar

I have to agree with the comment about Eduard, they've really come into their own since becoming a full kit manufacturer.

I don't really have a favorite manufacturer as my tastes are for more esoteric subjects so I have to take what I can get from where I can get it.

I am rather partial to Revell Germany for aircraft and 1/72 armour. Aircraft because they do have some unusual stuff for a big name manufacturer and reissue older stuff from Matchbox (I cut my modeling teeth primarily on Matchbox kits). 1/72 Armour because the couple of kits I have built from them ,Challenger I and Leclerc T.5, were absolute joys to put together straight from the box.

For 1/48th aircraft I would have to say hasegawa. For 1/35th armor I would have to go with Dragon.

Absolutley! Especially the "if you try" part. Great shape, surprising details for the money.
Dragon and Tamiya for armor..
Trumpeter and Tamiya for warships, although they sure need some help for what they cost sometimes..
Other than that, for me it depends on the subject.. Hasegawa's got a great quarter-inch F-15C, but my vote for the 'E' model goes to Revell.

And I really enjoy 1/32 Trumpeter and Tamiya.

Actually I should just shuttup! I'm all over the place with this one.
