My toenail clippers and pocket knife. The plastic toothpicks with one end bent are VERY good too.

Mine was similar to Bill's, which is my 1/4" plywood surface on top of the work bench.  I cut on it, mix paint, store things, it's a jig, cleans the crusty stuff of my putty and glue tubes (I still use it for some things), it's s straight edge, and a friend.

After that would be old #11 blades.  If there was one tool that is indispensible this is it.  Before we stole our mom's tweezers and had fancy tools like sprue cutters and etchmates, all we had were hobby knives.

The sprues from completed models.  I stir, poke, prod. stand, everything you can think of  i use a sprue for.  Plus there is so much i can easily toss them when no longer needed

I have an old, bent. and broken Badger a/b needle that I use CONSTANTLY for various reasons.  I mix things, dig things out, glue things with this little peice of trash.  I've also stuck some Blu-tac on the end of it and used it to hold things while I paint them.  I love my little metal bendy stick!

The toothpick. Without a doubt the most utilitarian object I have. I go through dozens of them per modeling session.
