Estimate how many models you've built in your life

Believe it or not, it's not that many. If you exclude miniatures, only about 50 or so. If miniatures and wargaming stuff is included, it is well over 1000 (just those requiring assembly). Depends on who you ask as to what counts or not.

Ok, to clarify: model kits (plastic, wood, whatever) and scratchbuilt models count. Miniatures do not.

FINAL CLARIFICATION:

Just realized that there can be quite a lot of building in a miniature, so anything that is a "build" counts. Any model kit, scratchbuilt model, figure kit with assembly or significant figure modification counts as a build. A diorama may be comprised of multiple builds and therefore each sub-assembly counts as one.

Around 600-650 including those I've built for others. If you include Starfleet Battles minatures you can bump that up to just under 1000. They all required assembly but were very simple to build.

466 since I've been keeping records, that is since 1979, but there must have been around 150 to 200 more before that...

I'd have to guess somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 kits. Started in the early 60s, stopped in the early 70s, & came back in the early 90s.

In my 36 years I would have to guess at 250. It would be alot more if I add each 1/35 scale figures.
Do they count?

This is going to be a hard one to think of. My first kit was at seven years old & I'm now in my 30's. Cars, planes, a few figures, lots of sci-fi... at least over 100, though I can't think of the specific number.

Somewhere around 300-350 kits. Built a lot of cars in the late 50's and early 60's. One a week.

About 250 since I started in 79, took a few years off to play with the bigger toys in the Army but that's my best guess. In high school I had over 60 planes just hanging from my ceailing. Alot more on shelves though. All were pretty much destroyed by mom trying to store them for me when I shipped off to basic. Oh well, guess I'll just have to rebuild them all.

Wow! Some of you guys out there have been busy! Right now I'm working on kit No.41.
I still have about 50 waiting to be started! I look forward to 2028 when I can retire and get stuck into them.

Probably the 100 and up group. Unfortunately the vast majority are in the landfill. Currently I have 12 on display, of which a paltry 5 are worthy of this site(being nice to myself!). Maybe someday, if I can figure it out, I will post something of interest and pride. Smile [:)]

Just started late last year.

I have about less than thirty built. I gave away some so I can't really be sure.

Probably about 100

Then again, those were when I was little and didn't paint them, and they were generally real cheap little kits.

I've built two since my return to the hobby a few months ago because I've been busy with work and college stuff.

I would be pushing it if I said 50. Built a good bit when I was a kid ,all of them as my lil brother recently came clean about got played with and disapeared to the trash when he broke something. Since then a few here and there till recently when I got into it pretty regular now that I can get a little more time to myself .

About fifty so far. Unfortunately the quantity is required to get (some kind of ) quality. Many of them I'm not satisfied with. But this is all we do for fun, isn't it? A bloody fun. ha-ha

Around 150. I have more than 200 kits still unassembled and I would like to build them all if I'll have the display space.

Probably 400 to 500 but most of those were in the 70's when I was a teenager. Since 1980 - 2 - in 1987. Not a one since. But looking to change that starting the first of the year(New Years resolution). Problem is I'm an obsessive -compulsive research hound and that quite often kills a project before it gets started.

I've built 12 -1/32 scale model kits.
13 -1/48 kits.
118 - 1/72 kits.( mostly U.S. military helicopters and modern fighter jets).
I still have 57 - 1/72 kits to build.

At a rough estimate I would say about 300+ over about 37 years of modelling.

Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.
