Whats on your work bench?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 23, 2003 6:22 AM
Just kinda a curiousity question...
Whats on your workbench being worked on or not being worked on?
Right now I have:
1/48th Messershmitt BF 109E(Starfix..dont ask never heard of em but I picked the kit up at a garage sale for 25 or 50 cents)
1/72nd P-51 MustangIII RAF(Revell)
1/24th 1987 Thunderbird Nascar kit (Mono...we like to chrome all the engine parts...gram)
1/35 German Infantrymen about 12(Tamiya...of course)
I think Ive bitten off more than I can chew....especially for returning to the hobby...but I work on each one a lil at a time and one millenium they'll be done!

So what are you building?

2. Czech Master Resin 1/72 Sikorsky S-38 flying boat. Main hull complete other than some pin striping, very complex kit.
3. Massie Models Resin 1/48 Fiat RS.14. Have been waiting for paint to arrive which it did yesterday - very cool kit.
4. Revell 1/48 B-17F being converted to B-17E Coastal Command with Paragon conversion set. Toughest thing so far is getting a crew in it.

Well Chris, at this very moment, you'll find:

Revell 1/144 Dassault Rafale M (weathering needed)
Revell 1/72 Leopard 1A4 (just about put together but that's all)
Revell 1/72 King Tiger (as above)
Academy 1/48 (?) Roman Warship (being built)
Scale Link 1/76 BMMO D5 double-decker bus (pattern being modified for manufacturer)
Exokit 1/72 Somua MCG (German Pioneer and Anti-Tank variants - patterns being made)
ExoKit 1/72 Somua MCG (Rocket-launcher variant - production kit about to be started)

and reference material on the above plus a number of other projects...

Now, ask the same question tomorrow and things will probably look different..!

As soon as someone gives me a digital camera, I'll post anything you want. Webcams just don't cut it, and my 35 is on the blink.

After looking thru the chunks of spru, snips of wire, old dried super glue and tools to slice myself with I find:
1. An Emhar 1/35 mark IV "male" that I'm opening a sponson door on and "kluging up" an interior for
2. A DML 1/35 Jagdtiger that is getting zimmeret for the past 8 monthsTongue [:P]seems to be the model that gets the least attention
3.a bunch of models that are ready to start. I hope I'm a modeler in the next life, because I doubht I'll finish these this time around!!!!Sad [:(]
Actually part of the fun of modeling (for me) is aquiring the model and the things I want to put on it such as P.E. etc. The building is fun too and so is the research thru books etc. so I can create a good representation and mood (I like to put my models in their element- tanks in dirt/snow etc. a wildcat on a wood deck etc. etc.
4. I just got an OntosBig Smile [:D]thanks to styrene (gip)
5. the list goes on...............Smile [:)]

Presently I've got RevMon's 1/32 F4E and just about done. I've done it with the wheels in the well & loaded.
I am in a bit of a puzzel with it though and whould like to here the forams thoughts on it.
First, why dose everyone recommend a coat of Future before applieng the decals.
Second, I've never weathered before and am a bit conserned on the size of the A/C as a first time project.

Great looking build Matthew ... it's good to see at least one of the FSM staff is responding to the challenge. David used the old "I'm working" excuse.

Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Very nice Enterprise Matthew....love the base adds a nice trek feel to it. Did it come in the kit or with the model? Or done seperately?

At present Im working on Verlinden's 120mm English Medieval Archer and Dragon's 60cm MÖrser Karl- need to finish them in a hurry to make way for my next kit, Dragon's "Leopold" Need the bench room for this kit, still don't know where I going to display it when I finish.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.
