Kansas City, Missouri

“I always wanted a lunar module to go with my Revell 1/32 scale command/service module,” Ron says, “I could not find one, so I decided to build my own.” He scaled up Revell’s 1/48 scale LM and built the first moon lander, LM-5 Eagle, using sheet and tube styrene. He swiped thrusters from another 1/32 scale SM and used the main engine nozzle from a 1/48 scale SM for an ascent engine. (“It was the perfect size,” he says.) Ron enlarged 1/48 scale decals, applied the copies to .010" styrene sheet, and glued it to the foil. “Researching and building this piece of space exploration history was a great time,” he says.
