André used
an Esci 1/48 scale F-86 to model one of the Sabre jets flown by South Africa in
the Korean War. He says he had a little trouble working around the intake but
got everything straightened out. He painted the plane with a combination of
Humbrol enamels and Rust-Oleum spray-can paint. Of the latter, he said, “It
works beautifully, but takes more than 48 hours to dry. Don’t handle it before
then.”
