“This AH-1J Sea Cobra started life as an Academy 1/35 scale
AH-1W NTS Super Cobra,” Richard says. He reshaped the windshield, cut out and
replaced the intakes and exhaust, moved the tail rotor to the port side,
modified the outrigger pylons, and squared the ends of the main rotor blades.
Why? “The model was made for a friend who worked on the J model during Vietnam
aboard the USS Ranger,” he says.
