Thomas says, “This is the much-maligned, seldom-built
Monogram 1/48 scale A/B-26C, raised panel lines and all. I used the True Details
photoetched-metal set for the interior and resin wheels. The decals are from
SuperScale. I liked Miss Lillian because
of the natural metal on the engine nacelles, and the orange helped brighten up
the black finish.” Thomas used White Ensign paint inside and Testors Model Master
outside. “I like to tackle ‘difficult’ kits, specifically ones you don’t see
built that often. I had to fill the front of the engine nacelles with fishing
weights to keep the plane off its tail.”
