“I built this AMT/Ertl 1/25 scale 1952 Chevy pickup for my
wife, Brenda, who spent two decades visiting farmers and barn owners while
writing rural heritage books,” John says. “I also thought of my dad … in the
early ’50s he had two trucks like this.” John used Fantastik kitchen cleaner to
strip chrome plating from the grille, then repainted it. He was pleased to
discover the kit provided decals for plates from Missouri, where he grew up.
