Building Tamiya’s 1/35 scale PzKpfw II (French campaign), Michael says he spread the work over three weekends, then came back several months later to weather it. He painted it with a combination of Tamiya acrylics and Model Master Acryls, dirtied it up with a variety of chalks, then topped it off with an overcoat of Model Master clear flat to seal the weathering and knock the shine off the decals. “It’s a great kit for people not familiar with armor,” he says. “It was my first foray into the world of World War II German armor. I chose it because I like the appearance of smaller tanks from the beginning of the war. I already have a Panzer III on the bench, and I’m hoping to have several more completed before I graduate from high school next spring.”
