John-Robert La Porta, Altamont, New York
John-Robert built Tamiya’s 1/35 scale M26 Pershing from the box and says, “The only liberty I took was using the stylette from a spinal needle (I am an anesthesiologist) to represent the tall antenna.” He painted with Testors Model Master enamel and Metalizer paints and detailed with artist’s oil washes and pastels. He adds, “I built this model after developing a fondness for the Pershing by playing way too much of the game Company of Heroes over the past few years! It is my first armor model, and my first attempt at using oils for weathering.”
