Chris Bucholtz

Alameda, California

Chris built Tamiya’s 1/72 scale P-51D Mustang with an Obscureco wing and Aires interior and wheels. He writes: “This is Roscoe Brown’s plane. It was on the cover of my book 332nd Fighter Group: Tuskegee Airmen (Osprey, ISBN 978-1-84603-044-4). Later, he and I met when we were on an episode of ‘Dogfights’ on the History Channel.” Chris used Testors Model Master Metalizers on the fuselage and painted the wings with a 5:3 mix of nonbuffing aluminum and dark gull gray. The figure has a body by CMK and a Preiser head.
