One thing led to another for Lyle. He writes: “I have been away from modeling for a very, very long time; I retired two years ago, and decided to get back into it. My plan was to use two 1/35 scale Tamiya kits I still had from several past house moves: an M3A2 halftrack and an M16 Quad gun carriage. Both kits were airbrushed with a combination of Tamiya and Testors acrylic paints. In the same storage box I found a trailer from a Tamiya jeep, so I added that, which led to Verlinden’s M16 stowage/crew/ammo kit. The extra ammo cans and gas cans are from that kit, as is the figure in the halftrack gun ring. Other figures are from the Tamiya halftrack, M16, jeep, and U.S. Combat set. I am not exactly sure how old the Tamiya kits are, but at the bottom of my time-capsule box were a few 1/4-ounce bottles of Testors enamel with 29-cent price tags on them.”
