Mike wanted to make the Pegasus 1/144 scale “War of the Worlds” Alien Tripod look even more menacing than it already did. He put it in a predatory posture by articulating the legs with coathanger wire and using telescoping segments of plastic straws to depict flexing armor. A 9-volt battery powers 12 LEDs in the war machine, illuminating Mike’s scratchbuilt barn; the hapless figure is from his spares box.
