Yong Li

Point-Claire, Quebec, Canada

Entitled “Bienvenue en France,” this 1/72 scale diorama features an Italeri Morris Quad and 25-pounder, an Airfix Bedford, ESCI British soldiers, children converted from Imex Western pioneers, and a cow from Imex, too. The water was made from two-part epoxy; the bridge over it was scratchbuilt from foam and styrene. Yong writes: “I like dioramas in which I am a movie director, telling a story through these machines, figures, and scenery. My scale is 1/72 — big enough to show some details and small enough to contain a reasonably sized scene (my basement is only big enough for my unbuilt models and my son’s snowboard).”
