For modeling challenges, file this under “You go first.” When a local hobby shop stocked several Lindberg 1/25 scale Flintstones Flintmobiles, Greg and his buddies thought it would be fun to customize them according to several themes, “for instance, the Dukes of Hazzardcar or Lady Penelope’s pink car from Thunderbirds,” says Greg. However, he was the only one who followed through, entering it as a military vehicle in the 2017 IPMS Baycon contest in nearby Smithfield. He was pleasantly surprised when his prehistoric MRAP took third place in the “scratchbuild/vac/conversion” category. “It created a funny stir when it was put with all the other armor models. I was so glad the judges had a sense of humor.”
