AAronw, I believe I remember as a kid the rescue AF H-19 was bare metal, but that is remembering back 40 plus years. So I could be wrong. It would be easier for a museum to paint a silver helicopter than to strip all the paint and polish the model. I talked to a few friends my age who also remember them being bare metal...But again we are all old now. I do remember also seeing red and white versions. Hope this helps.

USAF H-19A paint question
Posted by Aaronw on Thursday, March 12, 2009 12:35 AM

I finally tracked down the Italeri kit of the H-19A with floats. What I'm wondering is whether the silver and yellow rescue scheme should be natural metal or silver paint. The only pics I've found where is obvious it is silver paint are from museums, so I don't know if it is accurate or just easier to maintain.

Thanks
