HH-1N pics: former VH-1N comes to mobile
Posted by rotorwash on Saturday, May 16, 2009 4:41 PM

Yesterday was a very good day. I had the privilage of climbing all over and photographing one of the last operational HH-1N's. It was flown into the USS Alabama Battleship Park last week. As 1 of 3 surviving former VH-1N's it is slated to be restored as it appeared when serving as President Reagan's bird. My sincere thanks to Mike Thompson for allowing me virtually unlimited access to this bird. I wanted to document her as a SAR bird. Of course all the SAR gear is gone, but the helo itself looks just like she did when she flew in last week. Here are a a few pics. I took 170. If anyone wants photos of a specific area, speak up. I probably got em this time!

PS:Steve, please post some of her in her VH-1N days if you have em!
