Need copy of decal pages from Academy Ah-60 DAP kit
Posted by HeavyArty on Monday, January 19, 2004 10:22 AM
Could someone scan for me the decal placement pages from the directions to Academy's AH-60 DAP? I got the decal sheet as a swap, but no guide to place them. Thanks.

Just to be sure: it's the 1/35 model, right?
I've already sent them (it took a while but I did it).

BUT do you really want to put those yellow things on your helo?
Looking at real Blackhawks I noticed that the stenciling is barely visible so yellow is definitively NOT the right color.
I was thinking to make a scan of the decals turn the color to olive drab and print a new decal sheet.
The problem is I need to find Ink jet decal paper; it seems here in italy nobody has any.

Hey HeavyArty and Avus,
Not sure if you knew this but Cobra Company has the 160th SOAR deacls in the correct colors (as far as I can tell from memory and personal pics). Here's there link:

http://www.cobracompany.com/

I think they might be an available until there all gone type deal (not sure) so you may want to get a set for future or current use.
BTW, the DAP is simply a configuration of the MH-60L (not the K) so decal them the same way regardless what Academy says.

Thanks Sal,
I had a look at the decals but it's only the US Army markings and numbers. All of the stenciling (i.e. hoist point, no step, danger, etc. markings) is missing.
I saw that the MH-60 has all of that writing in low-viz.

Avus,
What the heck are you doing up at this hour....oh yeah, forgot where you were...these night alerts are driving me batty. Plus I'm starting to get a craving for blood.
Anyway, yeah but the Cobra decals will give you a good reference for the colors of the stencils. Too bad on the decal paper. Can you order some from Great Models or something? Is it because of the shipping?
Take care my friend...Last shift for the next 4 days. I'm gonna get those pics to you near the end of this week.

Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D] Yeah, the hours I post my messages must seem absurd to you across the ocean.
In fact I have to wait for hours for a reply, ... until you guys crawl out of the bed!Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Yes, the main problem for getting things from outside europe is that you have shipping costs that are sometimes higher than the price of the stuff you buy.

Oh, and just to be clear: the drink I was talking about did NOT include blood of any type!Big Smile [:D]
