MRC 1/35 OH-58D "Warrior Thugs" WIP

Folks,

It's been some time since I've sat at "the bench."  I've been off & on with modelling and keep telling myself that I need to spend much more time building. Even my 12 year old son has been getting on me about my 50 plus model stash just sitting there.  Funny, he tells me, "finish 1 model, before you start another dad!" LOL!!! I figured if I post some pics here of what I've done so far, and get advice from you guys on how I can make improvements, update my post, continue to build, and at some point I should have a finished product.

My skills are pretty much that of a Novice.  Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, and my thanks to you will be to finish this build and post pics of "our project."  Enough of my ramblings, here we go!

P.S - Still trying to figure out how to get the lighting right.  Oh, spray painted my own mix of MM Acrylic Interior Black, and thinner. Try to dry brush using MM Acrylic White.  I'm really looking to be able to bring out the detailing.

Great start! Yes The cockpit looks real good.  I have to admit this is one real strange looking helicopter... it reminds me one of those pop up campers.

Looking good. I worked the cockpit upgrade & and the OH58D for six years with PEO Aviation. My father never had a good word to say about the OH58 but I fell in love with the Kiowa. I've got a great image of the experimental testbed on Redstone for the proposed changes to the Kiowa.

Keep us posted please. Warmonger.

Did your father fly the OH-5.8 Alpha?  If so I can understand his disdane, it was woefully underpowered.  Pilots called it the OH-5.8 cause it " wasn't quite an OH-6."

Warmonger,

The Kiowa is looking very nice.  You might find THIS thread of interest as Alexander is superdetailing the same kit.
