I wasn't sure either when I got them. All the bends are pre scored and can be done with fingers, just need a pair of mini pliers (either needle nose or square nose) to bend over the tabs after they go through the slots, or give them a 90* twist, depending on where they are at.
Cutting the pieces out of the fret and getting rid of the burrs was the hardest part, but a new #11 and a 120/240 grit stick took care of that.
Fun way to spend an hour and I think I gave around $15 for the pair sent to the door.
