Hi guys, this WE is the WE, we start building on this bird...

And yes, we'll move over to the new section.

Sorry to hear that you're not in it, Avus, I guess, mailorder is not always as relyable as we would like it to be....

I'm sorry but I won't be doing this GB!
Mainly because I still coudn't get the PE kit I'm looking for. The kit is Eduard's UH-1C Armament kit. I need it because of the ammo chutes for the minigun.
I'm also very busy at work since I have to complete my thesis for the 15th of July!

Trigger74 maybe you should post a topic in the Groupbuild section.

Should we move this thread/re-start it in the new Group Builds section?

Big Smile [:D] LOL!!!! That's the same one! The Blues started flying here in 92 and we only had shows every other year after that. Then the Thunderbirds started flying here in 98 and the Q didn't arrive here until spring of 93. That jet truck was here every year. Jayhawks and stock Blackhawks are always here but a Q stands out. It was either the '94 or '96 Airshow. I probably asked you questions about the chopper and someone from your crew was selling patches & stickers. I've got to search for pix of the Q I took - you might be in one of 'em!

Trigger 74, I was at one of there airshows. Had the Blue Angels and some Jet powered truck. I was standing around showing off the Q.
Yes the pic is a production version of the Q taken during field testing at lovely Ft Campbell, Ky. Initially I thought I am the hoist operator in the pic, but after a good close look, we have decided that its not me. But since Ive done much of the same and probably from the same bird, I used the pic.

I'll be on board for a July start. I'm limited some with my camera for good close ups though.
By the way anyone know of a good low cost camera for the detail shots.Confused [%-)]

Yup, Lovell Field. I remember that it was a long time ago when they first got here, thanks to our Representative at the time (The Army Aviation Facility was renamed after her for that). I saw one once at an airshow here, even snagged a Dustoff patch and sticker, but I rarely ever saw them flying around. haven't seen them in a while and was wondering if they were still around. You're right, a 1/35 Dustoff Hawk would be pretty cool to see.

Is your signature pic an HH-60L? I've never seen one and that pic looks different from the UH-60Qs that I've seen.

Trigger74,
Your talking about the guys in Chattanooga? I heard they may have did a Bosnia rotation. Who knows, they may have deployed to Iraqistan by now. There is a 60Q here at drum right now. Probably for Phase type maintenance. They spend a lot of time doing show and tells, drumming up support for the Q in DC, as dollars are in great demand these days. I was part of the active duty guys who worked with the program, and have lost touch with those guys when I left Ft Campbell in 2000. Its a way cool bird though I'll say that. Would make a nice conversion, or scratch built interior on the 1/35 UH-60s

Hey Dan -
I pulled those dates because Memorial Day (May 31) traditionally kicks off summer, July 4th is around the mid-point and Labor Day (Sept. 6 this year) marks the end of it. So it's easy to remember, at least for those of us in the states. To everyone else in the world, sorry - didn't mean to step on anyone's toes with the holidays. I still think easy-to-remember dates are a good idea. Maybe something like the summer solstice and the autumn equinox?

Mogwa -
You've got UH-60Qs right? Are those exclusive to where you are? The local NG unit here had them when they first came out but it's been a while since I saw a Red Cross flying overhead. Do you know what happened to 'em?

If I only knew what date laborday (I actually thought that was May 1) I could give you my opinion.
As for the aftermarket parts ; well since you already got them, it would be a shame, not use them Smile [:)]

As the 67T from hell, of course I'm in. My only request would be that after market sets are allowed as Ive just got my first one that I may actually use, and maybe a later starting date, closer to labor day or after. (I gotta work on real hawks too ya know Cool [8D] ) Hopefully this will compel me to finish my first kit since 87...

Well, here I am again, it seems that trigger and jimz are right about having a finishing date.
I guess I'm okay with 4 July, however I would tend towards 5 July, just to use no symbolic dates (not everybody here is American, I'm not)....

Any comments or other suggestions ?

I've got my box ready, it's the Academy Pavehawk (although I would have preferred the Blackhawk DAP)
Anybody got a clue on how to put that 'sticky'-tag on ???

Jimz66 is right. If we don't set a deadline, it'll never get done. May 25th as a start sounds good to me. Anybody got and Ideas for finish dates? 4 July? Labor Day?

And shouldn't this topic have a "sticky" (or whatever that's called) to stay at the top of the forum list along with the Hind group build?

Sorry Guys, I will have to opt out of this one. It sounds like a great project, but I have too much on my plate to actually be of any use to the group.

I haven't build one yet either, but I have read and (rered a few times) the review in the July 2001 issue of FSM.

It seems there great kits, but there is a tricky part with the seats, I will explain later (when we have started).

Anyway it's good see that there are more people in already.
