I've seen at least four flying ones in private hands (not counting those converting or beig converting to be handed over to government agencies for fire fighting).

Guy at Long beach airport in CA had/has two. Those are the ones you see in the movie ConAir and The Rock.

I remember seeing a interview with a Apache EX Cobra driver. They asked him what his favorite was. He said he loved the Cobra but the Cobra had abig problem the Apache didn't have. He said you had a choice with the Cobra Full GasTank or Full weapons load.. You couldn't have both...

I remember back in August of '96, that a privately owned AH-1F crashed out near Palmdale Ca. while being used in filming of a commercial. Killed the Co-pilot, and Pilot walked away with minor injuries. Heres a link to the NTSB report on it:
