That looks so good that it just gave me flashbacks. I had no idea that anyone could scratch the interior of the transmission compartment that well. Color me impressed.

What more can I say! Outstanding as usual! Find me a rock to crawl underneath!

Yes, the coin is 25 cents which is same size as american one...i guess))))

Also I want to say thanks to Thomas Graham for very helpfull pictures and all the explanations on the transmission/cooling compartments he gave me. His preflight guide was allmost the only source of info for me - helped me a lot!

The build is moving slowly...but I'll try to keep you up to date))) Just glued back together two parts of the hull and added missing 4 mm between them. Now it will take at least couple of days for glue to dry. Then - sanding

Length fuselage   -  13.87 m  ( which is 39cm 6mm in 1/35 scale)

the kit's fuselage is 38.9 cm......OK lets say 39.00

Still missing about 5-6mm

I added 4 to be on the safe side

I think it depends on where/how you actually measure it.  From the tip of the tail fin to the tip of the nose, I get 39cm 3mm.  If you correct the nose with the CC NTS Upgrade set, you get the full 39cm 6mm length.  I still think the only issue is in the nose area. 

Anyone else have any ideas?  Chief Snake?

Wow... the longer you look at that, the more inaccuracies you can spot. Too bad they couldn't have followed the blueprint a little closer. Looks like they "freehanded" a lot of it. I'd say to just get on with it... the final result will still be impressive. Nice job so far!

Some progress pics I promised to post couple of weeks back (was too busy at work)

1. Length correction - 4 mm added in the middle. Now with CC nose upgrade + 4mm of plastic in the middle full length is 39cm 5mm.... Should have added 5mm  

The ammo/avionics bay fairing corrected also

2. Panels correction - each panel was cut out from foil. Rivets made with needle from back side.

In some places (like around this mesh screen on doghouse) I used my cheating method))))) To avoid "wrinkling", insted of covering the whole thing with foil, I made just a little oval-shaped piece where rivets should be. Then I put some putty around the edge to smooth it.

3. One more BIG scoop which is MISSING in the Academy kit

4. Intake customizing

Thats about it for now... I wish I had more time to spend on it((((

The "foil-method" used to make rivets is an interesting method; might use it to improve Panda's huey (one day in the far future).

 The build was delayed last year for several reasons:

- I had to finish my Huey

- I started MH-47E (could not resist :-)))

- I did not have enough pics of the Cobra's 20mm gun turret

- I want to make a vacumform canopy for Wiskey (master is ready but still waiting for reply from guy who makes VF)
