 I need reference help. Does anybody have a clear picture or diogram of the defrost ducts near the side emergency door lower windows (preferebly from the inside of the cockpit)?...

Surprisingly I can not locate ANY pic of it, and I am searching for quiet a while already...

Let me check, I think I have that in my parts breakdown manuals. Thats 100 manuals that I'm going to have to search to eliminate the not structural ones. Then find the correct subsection covering the system and its' installation. The new WWP CHINOOK IN DETAIL has a variety of photos that show the outlets from both instead and outside they door although none of them give you a 100% clear view from either direction. 100% of the outlet can be seen if you can extrapolate the combined views to get a visual conception of the configuration. It's not very sophisticated, but looking at the pics I can understand it's prinicipal features and orientation. If you have the book, I can point to a couple of specific pictures on certain pages where I have been able to pick it out. Oh, I want one of your conversions too! And if you can't find a suitable way to manufacture and distribute, Cobra Company is very interetsted in obtaining the rights to do so.

   Some more progress on my MH-47 nose. Finally I got the shape right (well close enough :-)) and started detailing the exterior. Rivets, panel lines, sensors and other bumps on the serface almost done. Interior still missing most of the detail though.

Also I started on the enlarged fuel tanks! Right now they are pritty rough but basic shape and dimentions are set acording to some drawings I got from Ralph. Thanks again Ralph :-)

  Oh, they ARE pritty big!

 I finished the Radar Pod also but could not take a pic of it cuz I gave it to ABM for a week. Should be able to post a pic of it already in resin by next weekend.

Man, you need to make a copy of this thing and give it to Cobra Comp.  I'll  love to have this thing Man................. GOOD F-ING work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received a few test copies of vacuformed canopy for the nose from John Wilkes (he is the one who makes gorgeous canopies for Zactoman's Flanker and Crusaider in 1/32). They look pritty sweet. I'll try to post some pics soon. They are not cheap and this will reflect the cost of the set of caurse...but at least they exist now.

You are probably right - the nose profile is not absolutly perfect but I am just trying to do what I can. As you said yourself - the subject is so classified that no such thing as drawings or detail references will be available in the nearest future anyway...

  I have no access to the real aircraft - I am just an ordinary modeller and my main source of reference is just Google.com

   First of all, intruder_bass is the one doing the build, SSgtD6152 was commenting on it.   

   Your speaking of a cross section (profile) of the nose of an MH-47E/G, which couldn't be classified because it's the way the aircraft is shaped!      And with that said, Andy's meticulous in his research, and phenomenal in it's application, and I've never known him to blindly build anything!      You've seen his "Mustangs" UH-1C Gunship?   Veteran Huey mechanics will swear by that thing!  

A side by side comparison that illustrates your observation would be interesting, especially to him I'm sure, but I figure, by the looks of his work he obviously has done his homework well enough that he wouldn't have made, what amounts to be, a mistake in the scale?    On such a noticable part of the aircraft??      Andy?   

Better check the pictures... but this old Hooker's money's on the most talented scale model Scratchbuilder/Fabricator I have ever known of, intruder_bass!

Rodger that...sorry.  Some times things get confusing when pics are reposted.  The job that has been done is A1...I have not seen better work. 

I'm here to help make this as detailed as possible without letting anything classified out.

the lenght of the aircraft from the tip of the nose to the flush back of the aft pylon is 52' 1" and if you want to add the probe add another 16' 4"

Tambo - what is the length of the probe itself? I mean from the very tip of it to the mount?

Also I do have some close ups on the external winch but I can only guestimate the dimentions of it. Is there chance you can find out the diameter and lenght of it?

   Some more progress on MH-47's radar pod and nose

The master for the pod was made out of styrene, Magic Sculp, Milliput and brass sheets. Rivets are whaterslide decals from Archer Transfers. They are great and work just fine!  

And here is the first copy of the pod in resin.

Now about the vacuformed canopy...

Here is the pic of what I got. It does not have framing but each window has to be cut out and "installed" into the nose part separately. That is the hardest part and it will reqire some skills and lots of patiance.

And here is nose and FWD pylon parts together.

What do you think about the shape of it?

The build is coming along very slow! Next month will be a year since I've started it! :-)))

But I had finished A LOT of other "secondary projects" (including two 1/350 cruisers, 1/35 Leopold etc.) this year so I am kind of satisfied!

its going to be the biggest chunk of resin I ever used on the model...

now back to chaff/flares and external hoist scrachbuilding

The tanks look spot on. The lines and rivet/screw detail on the fwd avionics/electical pod is perfect. Absolutely incredible work!!!

Were you able to depict the hand hold well and steps on the aft RH pod located just aft of the door? Let me know if you need a pic. Also there are 4 screws that secure the fwd landing gear door, I'll email you a pic of there location.

If you have any pics on landing gear door - will be much apritiated!

Also Mike Belcher from Belcher Bits will assist me in making the master for refueling probe tip. We were planning to make it using the lathe so if you have any pic or dimentions - it would be very helpfull!
