Well its time to put a few more pictures up to show how far i've got with it  Thumbs Up [tup] , now my has healed up a bit after i slashed while cutting the fuselage  Banged Head [banghead]

I've got myself another roll of 'fake' grass and some card to make the concrete squares, so the next few days i'll be covering the base.

All the vehicles now done, thank god.

Rear section nearly done, just needs a coat of clear matt to blend everything in.

Canopy on and painting all the framework by hand  Whistling [:-^]

Front and rear turrets complete, minus the guns.

Decals put on the other side of the fins.

Making supports out of basla wood.

Heres how its going to look like [note the tiny teeny weeny lanc i'm also making  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

With the wheel added to the rear.

This is how the front section will be sat on the Queen Mary, complete with crates at the rear.

I found this trolley and put it to use as a wheel holder.

The boring bit ! now  added a piece of hardboard to the base, doing it this way is cheaper than buying MDF.

thanks for looking.

Hi all. Heres a few more for to look at if there is any interest.

I cut the curved part out and then refitted to the edge, job done i hope !

I added a nav' table, nav' seat, radio's, pilots seat arm rests to the sparse airfix kit.

Airfix's incorrect holes for the rear wings.

I hope this is what it actually looks like with the wings removed, i had to fill in both ends of the square, these where shaped to fit the wings into, as in the picture.

Drilled out the bolt covers and filled in the slot for the wings.

thanks.

Hi all,

I first saw a 1/72 airfix Queen Mary with the front section of a lancaster on a diorama at a show and thought WOW ! that looks fab.
So ever since then i've thought about making one, well i went one better and brought two queen mary's an AEC open back truck
and one coles crane and of course another Lanc' kit.

I've nearly made one QM up and 90% made the crane and the truck, also started to make a base for the dio to go on, the dio will
be 29 inches long X 16 inches wide, i will be setting the vehicles out on a Peri' track as in the picture, theres on picture of an early
Lancaster in bits, might be a Manchester though !

The kits where all brought off Ebay cheap with no instructions at all to the QM / Coles crane / AEC truck so putting them together
without instructions was a real pain.

There will be no airbrushing at all during this epic build, so its hand brushed everywhere.

I'm hoping the finished job will be something like this, I hope !

Diorama base been made up.

Box of sprues !! no instructions !! Think of it  ?

Yet to start on the Lanc, i won't be putting any squadron markings on it as the parts are to represent new spares.

Coles crane went together nicely, i've also added windows to the vehicles.

AEC open back truck, This was an army truck but i modified into an RAF version.

Now then what wheels go on which !!!

The underside has got to be as neat as the upper surface, even though it won't be seen.

Damn thieves have been and stole my wheels

Nearly finished the first Queen Mary, i'll be weathering them all nearer the end of the build.

Thanks for looking.
