The Typhoon was an excellent fighter bomber, but during the time of D-Day through the advance through France. The dearth of enemy aircraft allowed all types of fighter aircraft to be employed in the ground attack mode. P-38's and P-47's were used alot, as well as the P-51 Mustangs in ground asttack roles. Typhoons were exclusively used by the British in their tactical air command, but they also used Mustangs in the same capacity.
