Thx Gamera, looking throught blurry old photo I wonder what paint color do they use to mark the hull turret (yellow, white?) most people paint their maus with three color camo ( I'm kinda lazy with putty masking)

I have no idea. Hopefully one of the German tank modelers will chip in and help.

Maybe its time to take a little 'artistic' freedom.

To hazard a guess, the markings are written with soapstone similar to chalk, and probably white. But since the Maus was never fielded in battle???? Could easily be yellow. IMHO white would be the safer bet.

we're modelers it's what we do

Noted, going throught halfway chipping, using hairspray & handbrush white paint (with little white oil paint to blur for chalk effect)

Yeah, that looks awesome! What you did to the turret is very creative.

That looks fantastic!!! Love the chalk marks on the tank and the rusty streaks on the fuel tank. Plus the figure and all the tools and equipment scattered around look great too!

I want to joke though about the guy cursing 'I spent all this time building this giant tank and the newspaper says now the war is over!?!?!'
