I didn't bother with any WIP pics as this is a redo of a previous diorama, that had too many discrepancies. So it's November 14, 1965 and the first elements of the 1st Bn, 7th Cavalry (Custer's outfit), 1st Air Cavalry set down in LZ X-Ray in the Ia Drang Valley (Valley of Death) prior to all hell breaking loose. I tried portraying the Chu Pong Massif in some of the background pics. The figures are from Bravo6, MasterBox and Dragon and the Huey is from Dragon. Enjoy the pics and as always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

That's fantastic.  Really depicts the action and rapid deployment they must have done.  The pic of Chu Pong looks pretty convincing in your pics.  Great job.

Thanks,

John

Apt timing, too.  Ft Benning, where those troops trained before deployment, is now renamed for LGen Hal Moore, who commanded that unit in RVN.
