hi mates

here's the latest from the bench, got the idea from the movie cross of iron where steiner throwes a mine on the red's tank ( is a su100 from zvezda i used because had no other one in my stash Big Smile [:D]

) basic a nice kit just added a nice bit of detail with alu and copper strips. hope you like them and comments please Tongue [:P]

I'm thinking about making a very similar diorama myself. I have a SU-85M waiting in the wings and I am planning to make a similar scene, but with some wooden bunkers, hand-to-hand combat going on, as well as taking out the SU-85M with a Hafthohlladung contact mine in place of the Tellermine.

I like the rust around the bolts and things of the tank. Very realistic. Looks like a big metal monster, and those German soldiers are gonna have a hell of a time disabling this one methinks.

in the movie as the tanks crosses the ditch it's engin stalls or something (anyhow it stopped Big Smile [:D]

) at this point steiner throwes a mine on top of the track, when the beast moved again it took the mine with him and so drove over the mine Tongue [:P]

disabling it's track.

Yep, that sure is a fine piece of work! Tank is superbly weathered.
But now I have to ask, how did you make the dirt? It looks so realistic and soft! And so far I havent been able to get that colr.

thanks fellas for the replys, as for the grounworks it started of as a mistake .... on a sunny morning (no it's no fairytale Big Smile [:D]

) i went looking for some real grounddirt at the place where i work, the plasticbag was full it was heavy and still damp so i thought it was just ordinary ground. heated the stuff up to let it dry and it appear to be clayground i brought home Banged Head [banghead]

(that's why it was heavy Big Smile [:D]

) anyhow afther sifting it looked ok to use as ground, white glue/water mix ald apply, just don't overspray it again or the ground will collaps Wink [;)]

Always a pleasure to see your builds. Cross of iron was a cool movie wasn't it. Haven't seen it in a spell. Anyway, I like all of it: groundwork, defenses, action, figs, tank. Job well done.

as for Kimar, just go there lately if i need some tamiya paint , for my kits i'll go to Gent where they have lot's more choise in builds and paint ( hobby verborgh 2000 or at christiaansens lot's of flying dingies also Tongue [:P]
