Abandonned hangar, somewhere in France after WWII

Hello everybody,

I would like to show you some pictures of my first dio in progress.
I hope to be be in the right section because my dio do not include any armor or figures but a seaplane (already shown a few months ago on the forum "Aircraft"), an old hangar and an abandoned flatcar.

The scale for the seaplane is 1/48 that the reason why I had to scratchbuilt the flatcar, the rails and a concrete buffer.

For the moment, the finished part are the seaplane, the flatcar and the two sliding doors of the hangar as well as a concrete wall with barbed wire.
The next step is the assembly of the hangar.

Looks pretty good so far.
I thought Gaso.line offered a 48th scale flatbed?

I like it, I like it a lot. Very Nice work on the flatbed and I would love to see some different angles of the seaplane.

looks great so far,cant wait to see the whole thing.for I/48 scale railway accessories
g or garden scale .Preiser and noch out of Germany offer superb accessories.

It's not a triangular dio. In fact it's a classic format (50 x 60 cm) but I've only covered about 25% of the whole surface. Behind the wall, I intend to put a hangar as well as the seaplane.
The wall is made out of light wood and covererd with plaster.

very nice piece. very detailed and accurate. it looks great so far. post up some more pics when youve got some more done. BTW- what kind of floatplane is it? a dewoitine? i really like the weathering youve got on it

Actually, 1/48 is closest to "O" gauge. There's also "proto 48", which is "O" gauge with only two rails as opposed to "O"'s three.

I'll just say, Absolutley incredible for a first dio. I haven't done a first yet and would hope to do as well as your first with a lot of experience. Can't wait to see the finished dio.

Hello everybody,

Just few pics of the frontage of the hangar .
I've decided to do it with bricks.
The bricks are made of pottery clay. (Size 6 x 2 mm)
it's very difficult to have perfect rectangular bricks Sad [:(]

I hope to finish the frontage next week and the side wall one week later Big Smile [:D]

I've used black pigments as well as ochre and brow pigments in order to to make the hangar more decayed.
Now, I have to do the same job on the side wall as well as inside the hangar .
