A condensed vision of the Remmagen bridge defence using a Tamiya m16.
Everything was condensed, the track, the tower and the positioning of the m16 to get it all into the picture.

Nice work you have done there. Excellent ground work. Lots of nice rubble and debris. Painting on everything looks very well done. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet dio Russ, you've done a great job on that old M16 kit, well done. Now explain to the audience on how you made the tower....LOL

The tower was made from a plastic food container covered in cork brick work,it wasn`t high enough to match the half t and the figures so I scrounged around and found a half
of a small icecream container with the lid still on,added that to the tower as the larger base and covered it in cork bricks. The top has a ring of carved up eraser bits just to finish off the top. Electric cable, doors, power box and hinges were added after a little crittique from the boys!

Many thanks for the comments guys, there are quite a lot of goodies added to this model
such as brass shells, coat and shoes from the Tiger1 3in1,real maps, wine bottles, ration boxes, camo netting and cigarettes. I made draped tarps, another coat, added a map holder to the passenger door of the half t (although you`d have to have x-ray vision to see it),boxes, bags, chain and more gear and weapons than I care to think about! I knew that the large stowage bins on the back of the halftrack were going to be covered with a tarp so I fashioned new bins from eraser material and sheet plastic
and saved the originals for another project. Another little item I used are a few Verlinden
US helmets with liners placed here and there. I did go all out in the detail dept. on this one,now I gotta replenish my goodies, lol! One last point of interest, thought it might be fun if one of the guys manning the guns donned a tankers helmet and jumped in the saddle.

Great job, again!!! The tight grouping of figures reminds me of some of Dan Capuno's dios. Keep 'em coming.

Many thanks guys, along with a well done vehicle I believe that detail helps improve the story told by a diorama or vignette. It also improves the overall eye apeal to the build.

Son of a gun, who would have believed you made the tower out of that? Great groundwork and figs as always.

Hello Comando, yeah guess I could say I build a few dioramas. No they aren`t built by a club, all by myself except for the odd one here and there where a fellow modeler has put together a vehicle and I put it into a dio. No secret here, just planning and getting everything you want to use ready, and put it together.
