Completed Hummer

T-Rex the weapon system on the hummer is a TOW missle system. TOW stands for tube launched optically tracked wire guided.

for the stream i used kids play sand i  picked up at home depot the rocks in the bed of the stream are from woodland scenics and so is the water. if you go to there site they have lots of godd stuff.

Hey Kenny I reconise that rocket laucher or is it a RPG? well that the same weapon that came with my wille jeep, but I didn't set it up on it.

The stream is good too, but where do you get the material to get that effect?

thought of that stuff rooster but i didnt feel like scratch building i usually build OOB. as for the antenna if you notice the rear cover is still on the missle i was gonna portray the vehichle in training using the MILES system but yet again laziness prevails :) but thanks for the input . maybe next time if i have more time i will add a little more even the cammo netting on the rear tailgate :)

i was reclassed to 11B after serving a few years in an anti-tank unit. so i had the best of both worlds. i really miss the TOW though, carrying the AT4 sucks!! hehe. when i was 11H we used to always joke with the B's, when they would give us crap, they always called us when then needed some bigger firepower or a ride looking at your dio and trying to remember the name of the guidance set, (the MGS), i feel like i am in the turret again. take care guys.

Just be very careful Kenny.  This 11B knows where you live, where you work and especially WHERE YOU SHOP FOR YOUR MODELS!

As for TOW system, my friend is a AT Platoon leader stationed in Korea and his unit (Infantry) still uses TOW system. 

hey kenny, dio still looks great, but just some food for thought. the antenna should be tied down, the missle blackblast would pretty much melt it off. another thing, kinda small, but not sure how detailed you wanna go, there should be the big black thick J1 cable comming from the top of the MGS into the turret hatch. you won't see the cable going to the actual system because it feeds thorugh circular hole the travering unit is latched onto. but you would see it from the MGS going into the truck. and i can't really tell because the lighting isn't the best, and its a little blurry, but the day sight should have one lense green tinted, and the other red tinted. the night sight on top, which you have painted, should be a glossy black, kinda like modern IR lenses. like i said, food for though. looks great.

thanks Gino , I know the MOS 11H is gone just wasnt sure if TOW's are still being used or not been out for awhile now. I assume the 19D's are the TOW platoons now ?? or is 11X still in control of them?

As far as weathering, Mig pigments are really easy to control, just started to play around with them myself.

i don't think they are completly phased out. from my understanding, all the 11 series combined, and you eventually serve in each position, or unit, 11H, 11B, 11M. the only exception is the 11C, they are still a MOS all to their self. but i think some units still have them. so being that all infantry are combined, some also let go of the TOW's. it was more of a unit transition i think. don't quote me on it though.

yeah that is how we were set up when we were 11H's. very armed. i think we were 80% of the battalions firepower. now the TOW is gone, and we basically have the same setup as before, except there are no more TOW's and the PSG and LT's vehicles have mounted 240's. still alot of firepower, but you can't beat the TOW or the sights. bad thing is even if we had the TOW's, we couldn't use it. everything is so micro-managed to striclty. it takes a battalion commander just to fire off 60mm illum at night! HE? you better wait for awhile, because it takes the brigade commanders approval. and by the time he wakes up and gets the sit-rep, and gives the OK, its too late. take care kenny. as we used to say in my old hotel company: "kill 'em all!"

when i was leaving they gave us the option of choosing any MOS we wanted and off  to school they went. I didnt change my MOS cause i was ETSing when they were doing the change over. you also had the choice of staying and just changing over to a 19D wasnt forced to go 11B.

our platoons were set up like this two command vehichles the LT's and SFC , the 4 more hummers. each was set up like this i will use my platoon as an example.

D41 TC M16A2, Driver M16A2 w/M203, Gunner M16A2 sidearm 9mm , TOW + 50 cal

D42 TC M16A2, Driver M16A2 , Gunner M249 sidearm 9mm , TOW + Mrk 19

D43 would be the same as 41 and D44 would be the same as D42.

we were heavily armed at all times

no rooster . i was in the 101 from 93 to 95 and when i was leaving D. Co. was being phased out as 11H's. They have now been moved over to 19D's which are scouts . All the people i knew are probably long gone by now.
