Progress tonight... on track,, gun bays done,, I closed up the starboard bay but used the PE covers,, added the gun barrels.. Here, I feel Trumpy let us down. The kit barrels are plastic,, and not hollow.. and looked thin.. I gut up some 19G needles to length ( the inboards were shorter than the outboards),, glued then in with some CA,, added the PE collars on the wings..  Pics tomorrow..Yes

I am also trying to figure out what to do for the gunsight.. most referances are showing the Wake cats had the reflector sites, but the kit comes with the telescopic.. humm...

Very nice progress...looking at the cowl gave me anidea that if it was done in factory finish(prepaint) it would really look cool

Weathering was kept to a minimum as she was only in service in this paint scheme for about 2 weeks, She was painted on the way to Wake on the carrier, then on 12/12/41 she was damaged beyond repair and use for spare parts.

Yes sir...really nice work! That PE would`ve made me nutty.  That kit looks an awful lot like the Hobby Boss kit in 1:48 I`ve been building. Again, nice job!

Too late now, but the Grumman F4F-3 cockpit was bronze green, not interior green.
