Finished polish glider
Posted by Borg R3-MC0 on Saturday, December 13, 2008 2:14 AM

I have finished polish glider, a SWD 16 Gil. It's a 1/72 kit made bij Mikro 72/plastyk.

WIP pics

And the finished glider:

The kit was and easy build with minimal parts. Only added detail are seatbelts made with tamiya tape. Decals where nice and thin. Details where brush painted using games workshop paint, overall color is Humbrol 74. The shading was done with pastels.

Very nice!  And an unusual subject, too.  Thanks for the pics.

Beautiful little glider!  A subject we don't see often, glad to see one here.  WHat is the wingspan of that model?

Thank you for the pics, very nice work.

In fact Poland have great traditions in gliding. First  Lilienthal Gliding Medal in the world was winned by polish pilot Tadeusz Gora in 1938. Take a look at the link below:

http://www.piotrp.de//webde/           and then click Datenbanken and Polnische Segelflugzeuge.

There are all polish gliders. Only Germany have built more sailplanes (but polish are much more prettier in my opinion :)    I consider that the best 15-meter glider in the world is the polish Diana II currently.
