New 1/48th B-17 conversion from koster B-17F
Posted by B-17 Guy on Sunday, February 13, 2011 9:11 PM

Just wanted to let everyone know there is a new B-17 conversion kit from koster. This one is called B-17F nose job plus. Basically it is to convert the revell F kit to a few differant later versions of the F model series. The kit has 7 vac-formed nose cones, a flat top turret, bulged cheeks for the F model and an astro dome. Also there are 6 metal MG's and 2 pieces of ammo chutes. I'm gonna let the pictures do the talking now.

The kit from koster is $18.95 plus shipping and you email Bill Koster directly at this addrerss.

wkoster2@comcast.net

The kit has 3 options for forward firing .50's, 2 of them are single .50, and of is twin .50. There are 2 options of G model nose cones, and one that can go either F or G model. A nose cone for D and E models as well.

I have a few ideas I'm kicking around for this kit, I might be able to get 3 17's out of it.

Thanks for letting us know! All I can say is it's about time! I've been sitting on a zotz B-17F decal sheet and everything else I need to make it happen but I just didn't want to build it with the memphis belle nose. I'm ordering this for sure.... I've been waiting for years for something that seemed like such a no brainer....

Got mine in the mail today.  I definitely think I can get at least two different forts out of this.  Good thing I got two of 'em, got to use that Zotz decal set some how.

If your not going to use the "Memphis Belle" decal options in the Zotz decal sheet you, what would you charge fot them and the associated instruction sheet, as I would like to get it for my B-17F "Memphis Belle" build.

Just out of curiousity, where are the gun-frames for the Kloster flex-fifties? As they sit in the above photo, they'd only work for wing/nose/package-mounted guns... Do they come with the frames as extra parts, alonf with ring and bead sights too?

Bummer...  Well, scratching the frames wouldn't be all THAT hard, I reckon...  What's a package of 'em run? Been wnating to do that twin-mount for some time with the "Belle kit..

Bill's order sheet has either fixed or flexible mounts listed for $3.50 a pair. He's also got ammo belts listed for $3.50 a pair and ammo chutes listed for, you guessed it, $3.50 for one.
