Revell MIG-21PF aftermarket canopy?
Posted by dirkpitt77 on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 9:34 PM

      Hey guys,

Working on the old Revell MiG-21PF kit and it appears that the canopy is hinged at the front end, indicative of the older MiG-21's.  I was under the impression that the PF had a side hinged canopy.  Does anyone know if an accurate aftermarket canopy can be had for this kit?  My searches haven't turned up much at all.

                                                                 Thanks!

                                                                             Chris

The PF did hinge at the front.

Yeah, I found some more pics late last night.  I guess it was the PFM model that started the side hinged canopy.  My Google-fu is weak apparently LOL.

Yes, the canopy and ejection seat were changed during the PFM series.

Dirkpitt, what scale did you build? Years ago, I had the old Revell 1/48 double kit of a MiG-21 PF and the F-4 Phantom. I built the MiG half and converted it to a MiG-21 PFM with Czechoslovokian markings to match a real one that was in the old Champlin Fighter Museum in Mesa, Arizona. The Phantom half I gave away to somebody.
