Well, thank you, mark 956, Blue 2, 13b20, obiwan, & tempestjohnny !

As soon as I saw the Eagle Cals sheet (#29), I knew I had to paint this unusual camo.

Blue 2 - the Me 262 seems to be able to influence modelers into building one. Whenever pics of one are posted, many people's response is a desire to build one. The Trimaster/DML/Dragon kit is not an easy build, though. Lots of dry fitting, filling & sanding. In the end, it can be built into a realistic representation of a beautiful design.

tempestjohnny - I think that the only way I'll be able to do that is putting a few examples of each country's planes together. I don't want to "bog down" a post with a lot of pics, as the people with dial-up internet will be hanging in limbo as they load. I'll try to keep it to four pics.

Thanks once more !

Sweet. Very sweet! Another ringer!!

I really like your photography also. Would you be able to describe your photo setup and equipment?? If you can show us a photo of your setup/equipment that would be good too!!

Thanks

Thanks, Murray !

I use a Canon Power Shot G2 camera (4 megapix) on a tripod. For backgrounds, I use matte board (for mounting photos). My lighting comes from one or two G.E. "Reveal" incandescent bulbs, mounted on booms for positioning. I use all manual settings on my camera (aperture, shutter speed, white balance, ISO equivalent [50], and focus. Glad you enjoy the pics !

tempestjohnny - here are three pics of some of the aircraft I have. I'm limited by the number of models that will fit on my background, and I kept it to three pics. Here's the links :

Pix,
Excellent ! I like it. I took your advice and ordered two of the Trimaster kits.
It's nice to see what can be built from the kit. Thanks for sharing and please share
the other kits you mentioned .

Thanks, fuzzy & obiwan !

fuzzy - there are some areas of the kit that need attention. If you'd like, I can take pics of the areas & show ways to fix them that have worked for me. The tail/ rudder, bottom of the aft fuselage, engine nacelle/ wings & landing gear are the main areas of concern. Have fun with the kits, and take your time.

Pix, you're right I certainly would not consider it a fall together kit.

Having said that it has done wonders for my ability to use sheet styrene and strip to improve fit, and provide increased rigidity! Big Smile [:D]

Considering it's only my 5th kit the Tamiya kit would probably have been a better choice, but it has at least introduced me to new techniques, as well as PE and resin.

Pix your work is an inspiration.

Thank you, Karl. I enjoy the process of BUILDING a kit. When it goes together with little or no effort, I don't have much enthusiasm for the build. (this was my 7th or 8th Trimaster/DML/Dragon Me 262, and I've got seven more Trimaster kits to build)

I'll be building another for the 262 group build, and I'll outline the ways I deal with the kit's problems.

Thanks again, Karl.

Pix,
Sorry for the delay, I've been busy. Any hints , tips or photographs you're
willing to share would be greatly appreciated. Would you recommend Cutting
Edge Decals or Eaglecals ? Thanks .

fuzzy - I haven't used any Cutting Edge decals, but I just took a look at what they have to offer, and there's some nice choices there. The "Cross-Dressing Stormbirds" look especially tempting. I've used Eagle Cals markings on two 262s, and I've been pleased with the results.

There are also two sheets from Super Scale. I have this one (I'll be doing Sinner's AC, third one down), and the other looks good also.

I tend to go for the more unusual stuff. There were some great Aeromaster sheets that are now OOP. With a new kit on the market, I'd like to see some more markings choices for 262s. There's too many RLM 82/ 83 over 76 in my opinion.

Most impressive, Pixilater. You're a braver man than I to attempt that camouflage scheme! Very well done.

Thanks Pix. I didn't know Superscale had those sheets. The camo for your next
Me262 is definitly unusual and I'm looking forward to seeing it when you're finished.
Guess I didn't pay attention. I'll check out the Me262 group build for your posts about
fixing the Trimaster kit.
