Folks,
Here are some pictures of my Airfix Stuka build.
The build is OOB except the tires (True Detail) and the wing guns are streched Q-tips (Thanks Hans for the tip)
I don't usually make the figures... but the cockpit was sparse so I had to fill the space.
Overall it was an enjoyable build with no major issues.
Glossy before weathering:
Good view of the Q-Tip gun
Oil stains done with Mig product
Isolators done with Micro Crystal clear glue.

9 out of 10 Fermis's love this Stuka....the other one is off in the weeds talking to himself!
Very nice, all the way around!
Thanks Fermis! I understand the 10th one...talking to yourself is the most intelligent conversation that can be had.
I never get tired of seeing Stuka's, and this is a great looking one.
Do you think the pre shadieng payed off as i always have my doubts when it comes to dark schemes like this, one reason i haven't used it.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
Bish,
Thanks for the comments.
Yes the preshade worked on the dark colors. I used very thin paint and fine mist. However, the clear coats did hide it a bit, so did postshade and used a filter when it was all done.
Great model......Bravo!!Ciao Enrico.
Great looking Stuka. I've had one in stash for years waiting to be built. Of all variants, the B model is still the prettiest of them.
Thanks, i may well give this pre shadieng a try one of these days, who knows.
By the way, what are Q Tips?
Enrico...thanks for looking and the comment. I love the looks of the Stuka as well.
AT6: Thank you for taking the time to comment.
Bish: You would know them as cotton buds. I used the ones that have plastic shafts and heated then streched them out...makes hollow tubes of infinte diameter.
Gut ur.
I think we need an American English/English English translator of here
Agreed...or we could all speak Esperanto. LOL
I have enough trouble with English
Bish I have enough trouble with English
True...true
Wow---I'm very impressed w/ every part of this build, not the least of which, the figures! Excellent! That looks like a very early scheme: '39-'40?
Outstanding! I'm begining to see why the Stuka is so popular ... I like the little dribs and drabs of oil about the engine. Also, the bit of exhaust stains - did you airbrush them on, or drybrush, or ? ... I've been overdoing the stains and leaks in my builds more than a tad, I think.

Manny, Thanks for the compliment!!!...it always warms my soul to hear good things from you! I don't usually make the figures so I was pleased the way they came out. Yes it was an early BoB scheme. At least according to Airfix.
Old Ordie Thanks for the kind words on the details. The exhaust was a combination of air brush (the red brown) then Tamyia soot from their weathering set. I didn't want it to look too pronounced, so it went lightly.
I love it Herc! You were able to pull off the figures to the max, not many can. The shading is spot on, got to love the Stuka, what a magnificently uglutiful plane.
Science is the pursiut of knowledge, faith is the pursuit of wisdom. Peace be with you.

In the Hanger: A bunch of kits
Now i see a good pictures number of the stuka
rtoo speed makes ugly results, too relax don't make results
Reasoned: Thank you for the supportive words. It really means a lot to get that kind of feedback on the figures. I was really hesitant to do them.
Bsyamato: Thanks for the encouragement!
I like ze Shtookah and vaunt to fly ist!

Very nice build! I love the splinter camo pattern in general, and you nailed it. The weathering is very convincing without being overdone, and I'll give ya extra points for having the patience to mask that nightmare of a canopy. Display that one with pride, it's beautiful!

"We have our own ammunition. It's filled with paint. When we fire it, it makes pretty pictures....scares the hell outta people."
Nice build herc!
Eric
Excellent work there.
PZL66, ruddratt, Jester, and MKelley Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
Looks fantastic! I love the early Stukas too and you did a nice job on this one.
"Can you fly this plane and land it?...Surely you can't be serious....I am serious, and don't call me Shirley"
Thanks lawdog. glad you liked it.
Stretched Q-Tips for guns eh? Novel idea...

Hans von Hammer: Yeap... streched Q-tips was a great tip you gave me/us. I gave you a shout out in the first paragraph of the discreption. Took some practice to not break the Q-Tip but I think I got it down now.
Professordeath: Thank you for the compliment. Glad you enjoyed looking.
TREYZX10R: Thank you so much for taking the time to look and give me a compliment!
Great work! I will be building this very plane shortly, however, I am at a bit of a loss in finding the color call outs for the interior bits and the pilot/gunner figures. Where did you find the color call outs? Did you use the paint guide from another Stuka kit? Thanks.
Happy Modeling!
