Dave, if you are gonna build the Hawk/Testors OV-10, Missing Link models makes some resin update and conversion sets that will greatly improve that kit. And they are quite affordable for those of us on a budget ;-)

Hey Stick,

I checked around for that Missing Link resin kit you mentioned.  I found a website, but they only had resin car kits and accessories.  Is that the right company?  If you've got any other  ideas about the conversion kit, I'm all ears.  BTW, your Devastator in the 'other' thread looks pretty sweet!!

thank you sir. The only place that I know that carries "Missing Link" stuff is Roll Models. That is where I have picked up that stuff from in the past. I do believe that they are still in business. And thank you about the TBD.

I made the Revell kit years ago when a wee-li'l urchin, and it has raised lines, no rivets, totally minimal cockpit, and needs plenty of weight to keep the nose down.

There is a funny story I have heard about the OV-10, which unfortunately, I cannot verify.  As I recall, some Air Force big wig was giving an OV-10 pilot some grief about driving a propellor aircraft and how it would be dead meat if someone had a Stinger.  The OV-10 jockey told the guy to grab a Stinger and if he could get a lock, to go ahead and shoot him down.  They set the missile up on a hill and waited.  The OV-10 pilot came in, inverted, low enough that the big wig was sucking dirt to get below him and by the time he got back up, the OV-10 was gone.

I believe the Nov 2009 issue of FSM had an article on this scatch built, 1:24, OV-10D. Perhaps one of the best scale models I have ever seen. s362974870.onlinehome.us/.../index.php
