I needed something to do while waiting for putty to cure on my B-36 so I started this 2 weeks ago, the 1/72 PM Lippisch P.13a. It's not a bad kit. Thinking about making it a Mistel with my Antares Ju-488....well, maybe just a little.
I'm just not a very good moteler (is that a pun?)
First time I've tried it and I'm pretty sure the slave labor was more accomplished, but I'll get there. Tried to do the 81/82 scheme, seems like no one agrees on what the colors really were. I tried the Testors but the 82 looked just like the 81 to me, so I blended in enough 34087 to get more contrast. Good enough for a color blind moteler. On another forum someone suggested this looks like a cigarette holder. The cigarette will fit in the intake but I'm having a hard time getting my lips around the exhaust so far. Bent a barrel up a little and added a jerry can and another barrel for scale. Then after I took the picture I realized the barrels and cans are 1/48. Bummer. Imagine the airplane 50% bigger, willya?
Since the B-36 might have been an adversary in a mythical future I am glad we missed living through, I included one of it next to the "supersonic coal burner". The Mustang is a Italeri P-51, make sure you never buy one, get the much better Academy kit instead.
