I think I saw three of those on a merry-go-round at the last county fair I went to. The little kids loved them. That guy must be really short. Big Smile [:D] Is he an Umpaloopa!?!

I thought i could ID almost any WWII Aircraft... And then Blackwolf came along with his quizzes and shattered my ego! Tongue [:P] Well, i dunno what that is, but the guy who made this kit has to start wearing latex gloves when handling his models! There's a nasty smudge right in front of the tail section... Hehehe... Wink [;)]

Since my knowledge of canvas covered aircraft is very limited, i'll just sit this one out. Smile [:)]

I think that its Mickey Rooney's personal aircraft. Or, it could have belonged to Alfalfa or Buckwheat. Seems to me I saw this plane on an old B&W T.V. when I was a kid......

Shrikes, it's good to see you back... I'd missed seeing you around. I'm gonna have to do some digging on this one as I'm not that familiar with the early stuff either.

Just a question here...

Was over at a pal's tonight and he had trouble seeing the image. Is anyone else having any problems with it at all?

Anyhoo, I may have to lay it on heavy with the clues this time around, but then again maybe I'll just let ya'll wander around in the dark. Wink [;)]

BTW, I like it when people start calling me devious, Greg. Means I'm doing something right...

MUA HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

To those who sent kind comments with their emails, thank you very much! I try to make this challenging, fun and enlightening. I can never get enuff of things with wings and always look forward to finding something new or different and am only too glad to provide the same for ya'll.

Did it shrink in the rain?

Or is he a giant?

Either way haven't got a clue, it's got far too many wings!

3/4th replica?!?

By george, I've got it! It's a biplane from the Munchkinland Airforce! Unfortunately, the whole airforce was lost due to a freak tornado/house accident that also killed the wicked witch of the east.

Geez, your quizzes are getting tougher and tougher!!

Well it's mid-week, so here's your clue...

Only one was made.

Also, the jokes about this kite being small are loosely relevant as regards it's name.

Hi all,

Whoever built the model pictured in the first post really blew it. Obviously the figure is 1/48 scale, but the plane is 1/72 scale.

On the otherhand, I really like the whole hangar diorama. The Sopwiths in the background are a nice touch. Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

Well this one has caused me to burn the midnight oil, whth the temp around 30C and the humidity at 90% what else can you do?
I dont think I'm right even for the second time.
Please don't make them too easy though. It starts the grey matter and at my age it's use it or loose it.

I can't wait to see what it ends up being, but I've exhausted my ability to deal with frustration with this one... I just couldn't find anything close. Oh well that's the fun of the quiz, now I get to learn about a plane that I didn't even know existed... as soon as I find out what it is.

I'm glad you get something outta these little quizzes, that's really what they're for. And don't feel bad, I had never heard of this thing before I found the image. Found it quite by accident, too.
