My Goose is still cooking
Posted by Swanny on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 7:42 PM
After Pierre's F-4 this ain't much but here's a progress update on my Grumman Goose.

The interior is coming together but following the kit directions is about the biggest mistake the modeler can make. I found that the floor pan needs to be placed then everything else positioned to fit logically after that.

I diverted from the kit color codes and 'civilianized' the crew seats. The seat belts up front are actually from a Tamiya kit.
I shall continue to baste with Future and keep you guys posted.

Looking good Swanny. I'm planning on starting one when I clear the bench of a few other projects. Please include any build tips as you go, I'm all ears, well eyes actually.

Coming along very nicely, Swanny. I can't recall if you mentioned it - are the transparencies injection or vac? (p.s. - don't let your wife see the cabin interior - she may want you to add curtains !)

Looks perfect Swanny....one thing I was wondering though, was that you said the front seatbelts are from Tamiya, but I couldn't blow up the pic to see if it was a decal, or if Tamiya supplies PE seatbelts?? I didn't think Tamiya supplied those. And if they are decals, how do you make it look so 3-D??

They are indeed decals and they are very 3D. I did not remove them from the paper backing but simply cut them out (carefully) and superglued them to the seats, paper and all. Looks pretty good, doesn't it?Big Smile [:D]
