Very nice Desert Scheme, and the tail decals look awesome.

I'm sure that there wasn't a "left-" and "right-sided" swastika.  Both sides were the same.  The hook goes up and to the right; up and to the left was a different symbol.

I have to agree; great paint!

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

Well, finally time to call her done.  Rather than focus on all my screw-ups, I am going to take away some good things.  Hopefully the diorama will hide some of the flaws.  She started to tire me out and I think going forward I need to slow down along the way and do some more dry fitting.  The canopy was a bear with this one as it didn't want to fit very tight.

I finished it by getting the yellow faded look to the RLM79 by adding some sand colored pastels to the final matte varnish coat just as it dried.  I lightly brushed it on with a wide soft brush.  I actually like the way it looks.  I will try to take some pics this weekend outside with some natural light.

I'll say! Very nice recovery John, that is a splendid dio to boot.  I've said it before, I think the "F" 109 is the best looking prop fighter ever, yes ever.
