Hurrah!!! Glad to see you get it all fixed and squared away! I was about to suggest taking a razor blade and slicing off one side and moving it to line up but Brandon's idea is much better!

Once I finish my Revell 1962 Corvette Gasser next week I will tackle the B-24. I plan on doing the B-24 in a heavily weathered natural metal finish. By the way. I tend to alternate model builds between airplane kits and car kits. I find that I tend to loose interest if I build only one type of kit. I also try to complete a build before starting another kit.

Are you going for a re-scrib on the 24?

I am not sure what you mean. Are you suggestng that I sand off all the raised panel joints and rescrib recessed panel joints? If so, the answer is no. Life is too short for that. I do not mind raised panel joints in WWII aircraft. It seems that those planes had overlapping panel joints. My B17 looks  just fine with raised panel joints.

It's not a matter of looks, but a matter of sanding it all off; especially on a kit like that. They normmaly take quite a but of sanding and filling, this obliterating raised detail.

If you get any kind of service from Revell I will be surprised, I picked up the re-releases of the SBD and Avenger about five years ago and both had short shot parts and other issues.

When I contacted Revell to get replacement parts, they basically told me to take a flying leap and to take up my issue with the retailer I got the kit from.

I will never buy another kit from Revell, unless its an older issue of either Monogram or Revell, might pay more for an 70's/80's/90's issue, but they will never get another dime of my money through a retailer

 I removed the locating pin from the front of the fuselage and everything popped into correct alaignment. I e-mailed Revell and told them to not send me replacement parts.

Wow that's the first I've heard of a bad report on Revell. I've had plenty of dealings with Revell and they have been fantastic even with kits bought on eBay.

I have to concur with Plasticjunkie's comment.  I recently had to request from Revell customer service a replacement decal sheet for their 1:28 SPAD XIII kit.  The decals had the red color badly bleached to the point of being totally unusable.  I requested relacement of the sheet through their website (understandung that the kit is from Revell Germany).  Less than 8 weeks later (the time period they say a rsponse should take) I received a new, flawless, decal sheet.  This request went from Revell to Germany and back.  Revell even included a copy of the forwarding email.  That's service!

Last year I bought a Revell F86. The bottom part of the main wing was warped badly. Revell sent me a new part pronto. Great service. I even thought of driving over to their headquarters which is about 15 minutes from my house. Next time I have a problem I will do that.

Expand the outer ring w/a blend of putty.Then scrape the inner ring with the new UMM multi function tool which you can get to the web.I had the same issue .After the work is done you will have to re-inscribe  panel lines on top.
