Toshi,

You are truly amazing sir. Your rapid and well-built kits are a delight to follow.

I have the same Monogram B-24 kit in my stash but, because I'm not home (I'm on my way to Death Valley for some sunshine, wildflower photography, and hiking a couple of canyons Big Smile) I can't just pop open the box and check to see what part it is - the instructions might not even tell me - but I'm very curious as to what a certain part you've painted light brown/tan is. I'll attach a screen shot of the picture you posted that has the part in question. Not knowing much about the aircraft yet - it'll be a while before I do any research on the Liberator's interior - I'm hoping you can tell me what it is.

Waist Gunners wooden ammunition box.  There's two on each side.  Thank you for always following my builds.

Toshi -

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! And you are off to a great start on the Liberator. Wonderful detail on the interior. Will be watching your build as always.

Thank you Hunter, your presence is always welcomed.  All I did as far as the detail goes was to just highlight a few things and add other colors to tie in the fuselage as one big community.

It kind of just flows if you know what I mean.  Thanks for the read, replies, and visit!

Great start Toshi, I really like the weathering inside the Liberator

Thanks silentbob33.  I wasn't going to do any weathering.  I was going to do this build as a nice simple clean build.  Yesterday, I decided to just do some minor detail painting then it went from that and I kept adding and adding more detail until you see what is presented.

I was just fooling around and killing sometime before Mrs. Toshi comes home from work.  Overall, I didn't expect it to look like it does now.  I was just enjoying the unusually warm and sunny weather here in NE Ohio.  It was a great day to be alive and well.

Thank you so much for the visit!

That is the waist gun wooden ammo box from which the ammo belts are fed to the gun.

For a look at an almost "unrestored" B-24D, go see the Strawberry B at the USAF Museum.  You can use the 360 degree interior view.  The bombbay is in yellow zinc chromate.

To my fellow forum members,

This month is my very first 1 year anniversary as a member of this wonderful forum by FSM.  What makes this special is that it is this community that welcomes me as family.  From my very first build of which was a Monogram Blackwidow to my last build of which was a Kitty Hawk Airacobra, all I've been given by you all is nothing but knowledge, understanding, guidance, and support.  Thank you my brothers and sisters for your read and replies, I look forward to them with each build.

This is build number 40 for me.  Basically I've been building 3.33 models a month if my calculations are correct.  I didn't even realize such numbers.  Looking back, I had nothing short of meeting great people.  Never mind my builds, it is you that makes my day.  My builds started and continues to be my therapy and hopefully my road to recovery.  The most important and pertinent rule I learned here that I'll take to my grave is just to have fun.

Why else would we hobbiests detail a model interior that will not be seen by anyone except yourself?  The sheer joy of it!  LOL!

Now on to my build.  I've built this very same model kit 9 months ago.  It now hangs in a young boys room of which I gave him.  He is Mrs. Toshi's friends son.  He ran to the den to see the myriads of kits displayed only for me to ask him, "Do you want one?  Pick anyone you want."  Hence a simple rebuild of a long ago, very fond memory.

Toshi
