To my fellow forum members,

The photos below are not in any order, I appolagize for that.  It's just some random pieces I shot from last nights build.  I'll be back on the bench this evening to see what else I can accomplish in regards to PE.  Thank you in advance.

Congratulations on your daughters graduation, grandpa. But I see distressing signs in someone admitting to liking to work with PE. Watching and learning.

Thank you sir!  I am still not use to being called a grandpa.  LOL!  I think I lost all sanity the day I joined FSM Forum with the rest of you guys.  LOL!  Seriously, I learned so much from you all that I feel like a sponge, trying to absorb as much information as possible.  Thank you sir for the read and reply!

Very nice. I have 2 maybe more (who knows - came off ebay) of the Revell kits. One day...This is superb work.

My first WIP on FSM was the Revell 1:48 Black Widow with PE.  I remember that fondly, I must have made at least two P-61 as a child.  Thank you sir, and thank you for the read and reply!

I refused to pay full price for this one too.  I grabbed mine off ebay as well for about half MSRP.  It looks like you got the "corrected" one to boot.  Here's mine should you want to check it out for reference.

Wow, sounds like you found a good deal.  Yes, it's supposed to be a new retooled kit.  Thank you for the link, I'll check it out.  Thanks for the visit as well.

Here is the Black Widows front interior.  There are very small styrene pieces, it resembles PE.  Please view the photo below.

Looking forward to this build Toshi. It's an aircraft that has some "sex appeal" in its dark, widow dressing.

On a personal note, congratulations on becoming a grandfather!

As far as your daughter graduating from Kent State is concerned, I'm probably giving away too much of my political bent when I say that I was, as a 27 year old, more than mildly distressed to have seen what happened (on the evening news) at Kent State in 1970. I wish your daughter a full, prosperous, and contented life.

Mike

Thank you sir!  Becoming a grandfather will be interesting at best.  Also thank you for the support for my daughter as well as the read and reply.  You are too kind.

The best thing about being a grandparent is you and Mrs. T. can spoil the daylights out of the little grocery destroyers and then send them back with the parents.....LOL.  Congrats in order for both the son and daughter.

Will keep an eye on the build.

Yes, and I look forward to that!  LOL!  Thank you sir for your support and reads and replies.

Cool, Toshi.

Great Wall is from the same parent company as Dragon and Hobby Boss.

A couple of things. I haven't bothered to get down a book, but if you use the decals you have there, it's possible if not probable that they are for B models.

EDIT: 25502 is an A, 25525 probably (need the book)

239525, 239532 and 25554 are all Bs.

The B is a much different airplane.

Second, there's no such thing as a glass nose, and I have no idea where GWH got the idea. There was a fiberglass nose, but thats a different animal. It was painted, either o/d or black. Some of the photos of the prototypes with the sun behind them make it look translucent, but it wasn't. I'm pretty sure the 25502 had a black nose, on an o/d aircraft, but that could easily change.

Thank you so much for this very valuable information.  I do have four sets of AM decals.  I'm looking forward now in this build even more so.  Time to do some homework.  Thanks for the visit.

I am really looking forward to this build.  Not only is the kit detailed and superb, but I'm excited about using and adding all of the AM items.  Thank you sir for the read and replies.

Yep!  I'll be watching this one as well.  I've got it on my pile of "to do" kits as well.  In fact, I was going to start it next but I really wanted to see what the AMT S-3 Viking kit was like.  I'm a fan of the S-3 so I started on that one first but I think the GWH P-61 will be next.

The only thing that makes me nervous is the use of all the photo etch metal.  I'm not a big fan of that stuff in the least and I hate the fact that some kit manufactureres make you use them.  I'm going to leave off the wiring harnesses from the engines because, at the end of the day, I ain't gonna be peering into the engine cowlings while the model is sitting inside my display cabinet.  If there's any other PE that I can leave out, I will.  I am still looking forward to the build, though, because I heard it goes together nicely.

Eric

Good luck on your S-3.  I would love to see a WIP thread of the S-3.  PE can be trying at best.  Since this kit purchase includes a Big Ed PE set, I'm going to try and see if I can pull this off and build the P-61.  Thank you so much for the read and reply.

I have just started building the front interior area of the cockpit.  I can tell you that by design, this kit is amazing, I highly recommend this kit.  Thanks for the visit.  I'll have some photos up by this evening.

This should be an interesting build look forward to it!

I'm currently working on the front interior of the cockpit.  The styrene parts are small just like PE and is very delicate.  I'll have some photos up by this evening.  Thank you for the read and reply.

I've heard these are really great kits. I have a few GWH kits in the stash, but not the P-61. I'm looking forward to seeing this come together.

BK

The GWH kits look just like a Trumpeter kit.  Well design, excellent workmanship, and the packing of the kit.

I noticed that the PE looks identical to a PE of the Trumpeter kit.  Thanks for the visit.

What a great score.

Yes, I thought that it was a misprint.  I guess not!  I don't understand the seller, but that's ok, as I have the kit now with a significant cost adjustment in my favor.  Thank you for the read and reply.
