Just be sure to read John Eatons article on how to assemble the air ducts.

I am glad you guys like it!Yeah John painting that would be tricky with little margin for error.I am impressed that you can make such nice decals on your own. The open bays in the front are nice too!
Finally get to post this:

That would be me, philo, thanks for the nice comment.
The light blue was a pain because that color does not work well with the ALPS printer. As I recall I painted a white background on decal paper and then masked off for the blue and sprayed it, then applied the decal to the model. I was disinclined to paint the marking on the model because of the intricacy of the white border. Doing it as a decal gave me the opportunity to easily redo it if I didn't like the result with risk of making a mess on the model itself.

Yes try designing an aircraft with a WW1 rotary engine and see if it even would fly at all!
philo426 Wow1the wings sure are short in proportion to the length of the fuselage.Reminds me of the Mig 21.I guess that can work only if the engines are extremely powerful.

Of course I don't think you could get any shorter wings than the F-104.
Sweet model!
Now why would Hedley Lamar be interested in where the choo-choo goes?

Wow, she turned out great! Love those afterburner cans.

Well she is done and i am pleased with the results.Good kit but there are issues with the intake trunks that cause the wings not to fit properly.I found an article in the April 2011 FSM that explains why this happens;turns out Monogram made the intake splitter too tall causing the fit issues.(wish i would have found the article sooner). Here are some outdoor shots.
Future is great stuff!
Great build Philo. I did this same kit for the Century GB a few years ago and it was a lot of fun to build. I like how the gloss paint job came out on your model.
Enough weight in the nose and the landing gear seem sturdy.
Very good kit for 1985 tooling.
I like how you've taken this build and did a great job overall!
I ,like the burnt metal effect on the burner cans.
Thanks Toshi!it is going well.
I use MM light gray often. I doesn't show on photos but, it has a very nice contrast to the naked eye!
By the way, a fantastic job so far! Can't wait for it's final debut.
Yes they went on very well.
