I also would like to add that the Cobra came out nice and that I have an old box version of this kit in the closet that I now want to build. Got it for $0.25 at a garage sale.
I love the way how you kept the Cobra clean. Great build on this one!

2022 New Year's Resolution: Enter 1 group build and COMPLETE a build this year!! Why Photobucket did you rob me of my one Group Build Badge??? Must be part of the strong anti-Monogram cartel!!!

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.
Have fun.
ikar, I suppose that I should have worded my post more clearly. It was Hasegawa doing mold trading with Monogram/Revell back before Eduard or Hasegawa had their own P-39 kits out in 1/48. But as has been shown here, the classic Monogram kit, can indeed be built into a real eye catcher with a little work.
TAD, prehaps there will be another MM GB here in the future, but I will have to get my modeling moejoe back up to speed, if I am to run it. Yes, there is lots of love in me for the Monogram classics. And as we can see, I am not alone in that affection.

Great job, MissVol! Such a great kit, I still have two of the oldies in my stash!! Don Stick, I feel much love for the Monogram kits of old in this thread....possibly, another Monogram Mafia build would be in order??
TAD
Like I said in the beginning of the thread, you did a fantastic job on this oldie.
Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!
I sit enlightened, thank you.
ikar01 So, I have a kit from Hasegawa for a P-39Q/N . The kit number is JT93 and shows two aircraft, the most prominent has the num ber 152 and the squadron emblem of a skull on a yellow circle. Wouild this be the Eduard rebox or their own molds?

Look carefully at the box...
Got this kit in my Stash as well. Seeing this I may have to push it further up on the list.

mississippivol Thanks, y'all! And yes, Gamera, it is worth the build.

Thanks, I'll have to give it a look!
And sharp work there SP, love the painted over national insignia with the Soviet stars over top of them.

ikar01 For more incentive, compare prices with Hasegawa and Eduard. For that matter, compare headaches when building.

Right... Unless you get an Eduard Weekend Edition, you'll be paying twice as much. And careful with Hasegawa- they actually boxed this kit under their own label before the molded their own...
Dangit guys, now I need to get me one of these kits. All of these look great!
Clean, or dirty it don't matter. It looks great!

Hey, Stik, that P-39 is really nice!
Tanker, look for the older boxings of those kits online. They are worth it.
I built the CAF boxing of this kit a few years back in Soviet markings and it lookd real nice (IMHO) ;)
I just replaced the kit seat and exhaust stacks with some resin AM stuff on mine...
Even after all these years, she is still a beauty of a kit with lots of potential...
Nice P-39s guys!!!
That's one of the classic Monogram kits I never built, guess I should pick one up someday...
Mississippivol;
I think you've shown that even OOB after all this time and the results are great . The early Monogram Birds have all come to life in my hands and I still have most of the later " Century Series " in stash, in doubles .
Now , the building of the B-17 , P-61 , P40 and some others were a real pleasure back then . I even have to include the B-25 and B-29 in here . The later ones ? well the age of the molds is showing . T.B.
Nicely done. I, too, have an affinity for the P-39. I just think it looks sleek, like a small sports car.
Really nice work on this bird. The decals look good, especially the roundels.
No bucks, no Buck Rogers
Excellent!!! I too have high praise for these Monogram kits. and I have the P-39 in a bag kit and a blue box (Confederate Airforce I think) that my wife found at a garage sale along with the Monogram Avenger for 2 buck a piece.
You made er look good and I wouldn't worry about beating it up too much, I think it looks good the way she sits!
Chris Christenson
You have done a great job with this P-39, well done! And you show that it is a very good kit, too.
